Make your door wider without a lot of construction by changing hinges to a Stanley Swing Clear Full Mortise Hinge.  Comes in Satin Chrome Plate or Satin Brass Finish.  These have square shoulders and are 3 1/2" tall.  The useable width of the door is increased by the depth of the door as the hinge swings the door outside of the frame.  Sold individually.

The hinge comes with screws and a pin removal tool.  Heavy duty and suitable for residential or commercial applications for interior doors.

Construction manager's tip: You will likely have to modify the mortise slightly on most residential doors to accommodate the square shoulder of this hinge as the hinge you are replacing may have rounded shoulders.
