Make your door wider by changing the hinge to an off-set hinge from DMI.  These residential grade swing clear hinges replace standard residential interior door hinges. They provide an additional 1.25"-2" clearance through doorways without expensive renovation to the doorframe.  You get the thickness of the doorway back in extra room because the hinge swings the door clear of the frame. No changes to door handle or latches are needed. Hinges are 3.5" tall and 2" wide with a brass finish.  They have a rounded shoulder for easier use in a residential setting.  These doors are designed for interior doors We sell them individually.

Our Construction Manager's tip: Check to make sure that the hinge will fit in the space of your existing hinge for easiest application.  Save the screws when you remove the existing hinges for re-use.  Consider a door knob receiver if the door knob will hit the wall with the new door position.
